History and Purpose of the South Carolina Bandits
The South Carolina Bandits, started in 1990, is a non-profit organization involved in the promotion of girls fastpitch softball in the Southeast and hosts numerous fastpitch softball tournaments, and clinics for players and coaches.
In the building of a premier program and helping to place more than 140 young ladies in collegiate programs across the country, The South Carolina Bandits has earned for itself the reputation of being a leader in girls fastpitch softball locally, regionally and is recognized on a national basis.
The South Carolina Bandits holds sanctioned tournaments in conjunction with ASA, as well as clinics featuring college coaches, olympic players and nationally known speakers, thereby fulfilling its goal of promoting girls fastpitch softball..
The mission of The South Carolina Bandits is to provide opportunities for female athletes to play fastpitch softball, improve personally, athletically, get ready for the collegiate experience, and have fun.
Our most noted tournaments are the Memorial Day Shootout held annually in May, the 16U Hot Time Showcase Classic held annually in July, the 18U Hot Time Showcase Classic held annually in July, and The Fall Southern College Exposure held annually in September. These tournaments are held at the Freedom Florence Softball Complex, the premier softball complex in the Southeast.
We also host four other tournaments each year, two (2) in the summer and two (2) in the Fall. These tournaments attract thousands of players, spectators, and college coaches to South Carolina each year for some of the best fastpitch softball in the country.
